There is rising urgency to mobilize Christians to support family care as the pace quickens in international reforms regarding care for children outside of parental care. There is increasing interest in the issue among governments, policymakers, funders and the wider development sector but while reform efforts tend to recognize the importance of the faith-based sector, they often fail to meaningfully engage the church and other faith actors.
In many cases Christians have been at the forefront of caring for the world's most vulnerable children. It's time to recognize the role that Christians have played and simultaneously mobilize the global church to see vulnerable children thriving within loving families.
